Jahmyr Gibbs at 100.0 is the second-highest-rated skill player in football. Amon-Ra St. Brown at 99.5 is 8 of 457. Sam LaPorta at 90.7 and Jameson Williams at 91.6. 2 inside the league's top 25, 3 inside the top 50.

They play behind a line ranked 5 of 32 at a rush efficiency of 0.8 and a pass efficiency of 0.8, in a balanced scheme with tight-end usage the profile calls high. I think indoor scheduling and a top offensive line compound in ways single-factor rankings miss, and 12 of 17 games here are indoors, 3 of 32.

The ten

10 rated players. The second back rates 36.9 and the flex rates 56.3, and those two are the sixth and seventh names in a starting lineup that has four excellent ones.

I am sceptical of any argument that treats a thin roster as a deep one because its top is excellent, and I am going to apply that to this club rather than to somebody else's. The old version of this page ranked clubs by summing every rated player and it put Detroit thirteenth for exactly this reason, which was the wrong answer arrived at by noticing the right thing. The roster is thin. It is also the third-best starting seven in football, and those are both true because the seven is where the games are played.

The backfield argument I keep having

I believe a two-back committee with defined roles beats a workhorse at the same total and that most measures disagree with me. This one disagrees with me too: the weighting is nearly two to one in favour of the lead back, so a committee is priced here as a good starter and a spare rather than as a system. I am not going to claim the model is wrong. I am going to note that the thing this offense actually does is not the thing the number rewards.

The hedge, attached as usual

The quarterback slot rates 73.6, 112 of 457, and carries 28% of the figure, more than any other slot. The scheme profile's quarterback input is kinder at 0.8. That gap is the honest uncertainty here, and it is the reason a roster with the second-best skill player in football finishes third rather than first.

Defensively the backward pair reads 14 and 24 of 32 with the forward composite at 22, which is the bottom third whichever way it is measured. Team Power reads 87, 9 of 32. Strength of schedule ranks 30 of 32 counting easiest first, one of the harder slates, and the bye is early in week 6.

So: the third-best skill group in football, indoors, behind the fifth-best line, with the fewest rated players of any club near the top and a defense in the bottom third. The window is real and this page says out loud how narrow it is, which is the part this market has been afraid of since it started winning.
